The walls are lined with plasterboard using various fixing methods, depending on the existing wall or surface to be covered. If the walls are uneven or out of the plumb, timber frame or metal gypliner system is a good option. Beam and column enclosures are constructed using the same materials as partitions and linings, often used to provide structural fire resistance by way of covering structural steel with specialist drywall products.
Partitions traditionally consist of the application of plasterboard’s to a frame in a metal stud frame, with the required acoustic rating determining the materials used. There are, however, many other changes and possibilities such as: shaft wall, beam and column case, wall linings, dot and dab methods using various methods as well as systems of fastening.
Metal frame (MF) is a ceiling suspended system appropriate for nearly all internal drylining applications. The fully concealed grid and ceiling lining can be used with various plasterboard products attached to it, depending on the acoustic requirements and fire ratings together with the correct visual finish. It may also be applied to bulkheads and contain soffit altitude adjustments.
We are a specialist in SFS solutions contractor. For wall infilling, the Structural Steel Framing System (SFS) is most popular. The SFS is incorporated, in this scenario, from the floor to the soffit of the main structural frame to 'fill' the outside wall area.
